By Plane

Pittsburgh International Airport is about 15 miles Southwest of the University of Pittsburgh. The 28X Airport Flyer runs about every 20 minutes from the airport to Oakland and the University of Pittsburgh, for $2.25 one way. If renting a car, follow the driving directions from the south.   If taking a taxi your fare should be approximately $50 (depending on traffic).  

By Bus

Greyhound - Trailways www.greyhound.com bus station in Pittsburgh is located at 11th Street and Liberty Avenue, downtown about three miles from Pitt campus. The campus can be reached by taxi service or by Port Authority Bus lines on Fifth Avenue, several blocks from the station. For the Port Authority Bus schedules, click here or call 412-566-5500.

By Train

Amtrak - www.amtrak.com (1-800-872-7245 in Western PA) has two east-bound trains and two west-bound trains each day. Connections can be made in Chicago and New York. The terminal is located at Liberty and Grant Streets downtown. Transportation to Pitt from downtown can be made by bus or cab. For the Port Authority Bus schedules, click here or call 412-566-5500.

Parking

Parking at the University of Pittsburgh is often a challenge. Therefore, please plan on arriving at least a half-hour early in order to leave time to find parking in the area. In order to assist you, a university map detailing where parking is available for visitors, as well as the rates charged per hour is located below.

Soldiers and Sailors Garage and Panther Hollow are two of the larger parking areas available. Parking at an hourly rate is also available at Sennott Square located at the corner of Bouquet Street and Forbes Avenue (across the street from the Law School).
