This course presents an in-depth look at the most common types of tort cases attorneys handle and the practical considerations and specialized rules attorneys must deal with. The course will concentrate on product liability, medical malpractice, federal torts claims actions, local and state government torts claims, and premises liability and cover specific issues such as insurance coverage, emotional distress, by-stander claims, punitive damages, appointment of fault and special duties. Topical subjects such as tort reform will be discussed also.
