Extracurricular Activities

CILE arranges various activities during the academic year to expose our LL.M. students to American legal practices, and to American culture. Every fall, CILE takes the LL.M class on a day trip to Fallingwater, an architectural landmark in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania. In the spring, we take a three-day trip to Washington, D.C, where students are able to attend a Supreme Court session and visit national landmarks, such as the Library of Congress and the Smithsonian Museums.

In Pittsburgh, our LL.M. students enjoy sporting events, parties with J.D. students, and fascinating lectures by LL.M. alumni, and other distinguished visitors. LL.M. students are also given the opportunity to engage with the law school outside the curriculum. Past LL.M. students have given lectures to J.D. students on the rule of law in their home countries, served as judges for moot court competitions, participated in events sponsored by the International Law Society, and more.
