Life in Pittsburgh

	The University of Pittsburgh is in Oakland, a lively neighborhood with easy bus access to rest of the city and even to the airport for just a couple of dollars. Oakland has three museums: military - art - natural history, an arboretum, a huge park, lots of restaurants, and interesting small shops.
The University provides discount tickets to Pittsburgh's excellent array of music, dance, and theater venues. In and around Pittsburgh are lots of outdoor activities for every season. All local events are listed in the newspaper's calendar.
Franklin West, Inc. has rented apartments to many of our LL.M. students over the years.	The University has a Housing Resource Center which can help you: identify which neighborhood to live in, locate apartments available for rent, understand leases in the U.S. The HRC also lists safety tips and places where you can get inexpensive furniture.
GlobalPittsburgh has links to social clubs, churches, and other contacts in order by country name. They also have useful information about healthcare, taxes, childcare, learning English, and other aspects of living in Pittsburgh.
	Pittsburgh is well-known for having excellent hospitals and medical research centers. Be Well Pittsburgh has a good list of foreign language health information.
