Class participation: Class discussion based on the required reading is important to this course. For this reason class participation is integral to the course, and I reserve the right to raise or lower the student’s grade on the basis of class participation by one grade step, e.g., from B to B+, or B to B-.
Grade: Each student will submit a paper of no less than 10,000 words on a topic of his or her choice related to international environmental law and policy. In addition, during the last two classes of the semester, each student will make a 10-15 minute presentation to the class based on the topic of the paper.
