Course Description

This is a condensed one-week course that will provide an introduction to litigating human rights cases in Europe. The course will cover four primary topics:
The new institutional framework for human rights in Europe;
The European Convention on Human Rights in the Western Balkans;
European human rights for commercial lawyers; and
Hot topics in European human rights litigation, including recent and current cases on immigration and asylum, extradition, extraordinary rendition, prisoner voting rights, and extraterritoriality and military operations.
