Where is the law school located?

The School of Law is located on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh, an area spanning 90 buildings on 132 acres. It is conveniently located near shopping, restaurants and entertainment, and is immediately adjacent to the 450-acre Schenley Park, which offers woodland trails, a swimming pool, golf course, tennis courts, an ice skating rink and a conservatory.

Where do students live?

Students typically live in the various neighborhoods surrounding the University. The cost of living in this area is low compared with equivalent accommodations in most major cities. The average rent for a one-bedroom apartment runs between $400 and $600, while a two-bedroom apartment runs between $550 and $750.

What Clinical Opportunities are available?

Several clinical opportunities are available to students of the School of Law, including the Civil Practice Clinic-- which entails Health Law, Elder Law and Disability Law-- the Environmental Law Clinic, the Tax Law Clinic, the Community Economic Development Clinic, and the Family Law Clinic.

Are there Certificate Programs available?

The School of Law now offers certificate programs in the following areas: Health Law, Environmental Law, Science and Policy, International and Comparative Law, Intellectual Property and Technology Law, and Civil Litigation. These certificate programs are only available to currently-enrolled law students.

How many faculty members are there? And are they accessible to students?

There are approximately 45 full-time faculty. In addition to being personally approachable, the faculty members have offices located around the perimeter of the library, making them very accessible to students.

Is there an LL.M Program?

Yes, the Law School has a program for foreign attorneys which is administered through its Center for International Legal Education.
