Above the Cloud: Pittsburgh and the Data Revolution
The Innovation Practice Institute's Investing in Innovation Series presents keynote speaker Andrew Moore, Director of Google Pittsburgh, presenting:
Above the Cloud: Pittsburgh and the Data Revolution
Gigabytes. Terabytes. Petabytes. Exabytes. For some, this is a foreign language. For others, it’s just Pittsburghese. No stranger to new languages, Pittsburgh is certainly no stranger to Big Data and the Cloud. Pittsburgh is home to an unparalleled talent pool in the areas of computer science and information technology and boasts a diverse market of industries that are increasingly reliant upon data collection and analysis. As such, Pittsburgh is uniquely positioned to become the global center for cutting-edge big data and cloud computing research and innovation.
Refreshments will be served.
Andrew Moore is the director of Google Pittsburgh and an engineering lead for Google’s efforts in commerce.
