NLG Legal Observer Training

November 16, 2011 - 6:00pm7:00pm
University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Room 111
3900 Forbes Avenue
Pittsburgh, PA 15260

The Pitt Law chapter of the National Lawyers Guild will be holding its
fourth Legal Observer training next Wednesday, November 16th, from
6pm-7pm. The training will be in room 111 of the Barco Law Building.
NLG Legal Observers have been working for the past several weeks to
protect the rights of the Occupy Pittsburgh protesters by monitoring
demonstrations for rights violations by the authorities. However, we need
more volunteers in order to cover all the demonstrations, and to monitor
the Occupation camp Downtown. If you care about First Amendment rights,
then this is an excellent chance to gain experience about the legal issues
that arise when they are actually put to use. More importantly, the
evidence that Legal Observers collect may also be used to vindicate those
rights in court.
