U.S. Steel Lecture: "The Euro Crisis: Some Lessons for the European Union"

Professor Kurt Riechenberg Kurt Riechenberg, Visiting Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, is a German lawyer and Senior Legal Secretary (Clerk) to Judge Silva de Lapuerta at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg since 2003. He joined the Court in 1983 and was Clerk to three Judges until 1998, when he became Chief of Staff to the President of the Court, a position he held until 2003. In 1993 and 1996-97, he was a Visiting Fulbright Professor of European Law at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and held the same function thereafter at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá (Colombia). Between 2005 and 2007 Riechenberg was Secretary of the 'Group of Wise Persons' established by the Ministers of the Council of Europe in order to evaluate the functioning of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

This lecture has been approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Board for one (1) hour of substantive credit. There is a $25 fee to obtain CLE credit.
