Yesim M. Atamer

Visiting Professor of Law

Professor Yesim Atamer is an Associate Professor at Istanbul Bilgi Law Faculty in Istanbul, Turkey and a member of the Bogazici University Human Research Ethics Board and the Executive Board of Istanbul Bilgi University European Union Research Center. She teaches courses on Civil Law, Comparative Civil Law, Law of Persons, Family Law, and Consumer Protection Law and specializes in research in the fields of Contracts, Torts, Harmonization of European Contract Law, Law of Domestic and International Sale of Goods, Turkish and EU Consumer Law, Law and Medicine, Family Law, and Law of Persons. Professor Atamer also serves in an ongoing capacity as a consultant for the EU Twinning Project for Strengthening of the Capacity of Turkey in its Efforts in the Full Alignment, Enforcement and Implementation of Consumer Protection; Turkish Ministry of Industry and Trade / German Ministry of Consumer Protection, Food and Agriculture. Professor Atamer received her LL.B. in law from Istanbul University Law Faculty and her LL.M.and PhD from the Social Sciences Institute of Istanbul University. She has published four books on contracts and torts and over two dozen articles on her research topics. As a scholar of the European Union Jean Monnet program, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Max Planck Society, Swiss Institute of Comparative Law and the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (Unidroit), she has been conducting research in Hamburg, Munich, Lausanne, Bern and Rome.
