This course will examine current real estate ownership and transfer mechanisms and strategies. Particular emphasis will be placed upon financing the acquisition and development of land, including traditional common law instruments -- fee and leasehold mortgages and installment contracts -- new governmentally sponsored financing vehicles, governmental intervention in mortgage foreclosure, and priorities among creditors during the acquisition, construction, and operational stages. It will examine various ownership regimes, including condominiums and co-operatives. Final Exam.
