Oral arguments and coalition formation on the U.S. Supreme Court: a deliberate dialogue

For this study,  the authors used the ideal environment of the U.S. Supreme Court, with its controlled, highly institutionalized decision-making practices, to analyze the coalition formation process that is crucial to many areas of political debate and decision making.
