John Burkoff on Defendants Who Take the Stand

Professor John Burkoff discussed the trial of former Pennsylvania House Speaker Bill DeWeese, in which jurors could hear DeWeese himself testify.  This happens on television dramas and in the movies all the time, but Professor Burkoff noted that it is actually a high-risk strategy.  Testifying at your own trial, Burkoff said, is "a gutsy roll of the dice."
