John Burkoff Comments on Report Released by Paterno Family
Pitt Law Professor John Burkoff commented on the validity of a recent report commissioned by the family of late Penn State head football coach Joe Paterno on the child sex abuse scandal surrounding former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky. The report contradicts many of the findings of another report released last year by former FBI Director Louis Freeh. Burkoff called the Paterno report “a first-rate piece of lawerly advocacy:” “I'm not saying its arguments and contentions are wrong. Some of them may be right,” he told the Lehigh Valley Morning Call. He also called it a “selective review of some of the available evidence.”
