David Harris on Cross Examination of State's Star Witness in Orie Case

Publish Date/Time:

Professor David Harris commented on the cross-examination of Jamie Pavlot, the state's star witness in the case against State Senator Jane Orie.  Orie's defense questioned Pavlot about computer records that showed that crucial documents Pavlot claims she had never seen were typed on her computer, using her password.  Pavlot replied that office computers, including hers, were sometimes used by others.  The defense used this line of questioning to attack her credibility,  Professor Harris said.  "Their case has to be, 'She's incredible; she's not telling the truth; you can't take her word for this or anything else.'"
