Pitt Law Faculty Weigh In on Penn State Report

Publish Date/Time:
July 13, 2012

Professors John Burkoff and David Harris both addressed the Penn State report by former FBI Director Louis Freeh.  The professors explained the report in numerous media interviews.  Professor Burkoff told the Chronicle of Higher Education that Freeh's report documented "a culture at Penn State that valued football over possible child sexual-assault victims."  Burkoff called the indictment of former Penn State president Graham Spanier "all but inevitable."  In interviews with KQV and KDKA, Professor Harris explained that the Freeh report would serve as a roadmap for future cases, both civil and criminal, and that the evidence uncovered by Freeh and his team would surely be used all future trials and lawsuits.
