John Burkoff on Financial Difficulties for Public Sector Lawyers

Professor John Burkoff discussed the financial difficulties faced by lawyers who take public service jobs, with the lower pay that those jobs entail.  Sometimes, that means they have a tough time making ends meet if they have families.  "You make a real sacrifice to become a DA or a PD," Professor Burkoff told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "They are interested in public service and in doing good."  But with the low pay, “the incentive to leave public service to support your family is a strong one."
