Ronald Brand and Pitt Law Students Train Iraqi Law Students for International Moot Court Competition

On October 5-13, 2012, Professor Ronald Brand traveled with Pitt Law 3L students, Amelia Brett, Eryn Correa, and Brian Fraile, to Istanbul, Turkey, to train students from the University of Baghdad School of Law in preparation for participation in the 2013 Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot competition.  The training sessions were funded by the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce, and will continue with distance support for the University of Baghdad Vis team, the Third Annual Middle East Pre-Moot in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in late February, and the Vis Competition in Vienna in March 2013.  Pitt’s Center for International Legal Education (CILE) has worked with CLDP for six years to provide training in international commercial law and arbitration in Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Oman, Qatar, and the UAE.
