Dan Friedson on Addressing Blight

Professor Dan Friedson recently presented on Fighting Blight to The Local Government Academy (LGA), a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit that trains local elected officials, municipal staff members and citizens on areas of contemporary concern. Professor Friedson's talk focused on the successful blight reduction program in Beaver County executed in conjunction with the Beaver Initiative for Growth. Through this initiative, Community Economic Development Clinic students at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, working with attorney Irene Mclaughlin, Professor Friedson and Ray Baum at Pepper Hamilton, LLP, reclaimed 38 vacant properties throughout Beaver County in two years.
