Alison Bonebrake comes to the University of Pittsburgh School of Law with extensive public policy experience as a former Deputy Legislative Director for both former Senator John F. Kerry (D-MA) and his interim successor William "Mo" Cowan (D-MA). In that role she served as the Senators' key advisor on health care issues and supervised legislative staff on policy and constituent issues, including the Affordable Care Act, the Budget Control Act of 2011, and the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction. For Senator Kerry she assisted in crafting legislation and policy analysis on issues pertaining to health insurance reform, federal health programs, prescription drugs, medical devices, biotechnology and life sciences, public health and the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families program.
Bonebrake is the current Director of Federal Government Affairs for Sanofi US. There she develops and implements legislative strategies to respond to Congressional action and fosters meaningful relationships with key members of Congress and staff to best represent Sanofi US in Washington D.C. Previously as Vice President of the Glover Park Group, she provided strategic legislative advice and tactical guidance to a variety of health care clients including nonprofit organizations and private industries in insurance, pharmaceuticals, and pharmacy benefit managers.
