| Environmental Law Clinic | 03/20/08 |
Pitt Law is pleased to announce its plan to offer the Environmental Law Clinic in the spring 2009 semester. Students can anticipate an interdisciplinary Clinic that offers the opportunity to refine environmental and administrative advocacy skills and knowledge through natural resource litigation, administrative practice, policy work, community outreach, and substantive environmental law classroom work. We will provide legal representation to individuals, community organizations, and governmental entities that could not otherwise afford legal and technical services for environmental, land use, and community health concerns. The Clinic will be open to 2L and 3L students with preference given to 3Ls. While no prerequisites or co-requisites will exist for Clinic registration, students who have taken administrative law or any environmental law course may have an easier experience transitioning into Clinic cases and projects. The Environmental Law Clinic will be tentatively offered for 7 credits. As currently planned, we will meet twice per week for classroom work (Tuesday and Thursday between 2:30 and 4:20) and once per week for case review (day and time to be determined). Questions may be directed to Professor Collins starting on June 2, 2008. |
