Exam Laptop Information
For exams allowing laptops, students are not required to come to the Registrar's Office to sign-up for those exams they wish to take on their laptop. However, in order to take your exams on your laptop, you must have downloaded and installed the Securexam software and attended one of the mandatory training sessions.
Laptop Exam Requirements
- A PC or Macintosh Computer that meets the requirements below
- The current version of the Securexam software for your computer, available from Downloads section below
- Attendance at a mandatory Exam Software training session, schedule below
- A completed Laptop Exam Waiver Form, available from Downloads section below
If you have never taken your exams on a laptop before, you must also download the attached waiver form for using the exam software, complete it, and return it to the Registrar's Office before the exam period begins. If you have already completed the Waiver, you do not need to do it again as we only need to have one form on file at the Law School. As a reminder, if you have not filed the Waiver with the Registrar's Office but attended one of the training sessions and do take your exams on a laptop, you are in violation of the Exam Rules and the Law School's Standards of Academic Integrity for failure to comply with exam procedures.
Proctors cannot and will not supply technical support to any student during an exam, but the proctor can contact a member of the IT Staff for assistance. If your PC fails during an exam, you will have to continue the exam in writing, in a bluebook. You will also not be given any additional time to complete it.
The Law School does not provide PC's for taking exams.
