Services for Faculty and Staff
The Information Technology Department provides desktop and network support to Pitt Law faculty and staff. General requests for support should be sent to lawit@pitt.edu.
The IT department also handles maintenance and development of the Law School website. Requests for web support should be sent to the webmaster at lawwm@pitt.edu.
Classroom technology and audio-visual services are available by request. Requests should be sent to lawit@pitt.edu at least three days prior to the class or event.
To report an emergency please call the Pitt Law Emergency IT Help Line at (412)-624-5699, and the message will be forwarded to a member of the IT Staff's mobile device.
Services for Students
Computer Lab
The Information Technology Department provides support services for users of the Pitt Law Computing Lab located on the 4th Floor of the Barco Law Building. For any issues concerning the computers in the computer lab or problems with printing please report the problem to the IT Office located in Rm. 425 or send an e-mail to lawit@pitt.edu.
Wireless Network
The Barco Law Building provides Wireless Internet Access throughout the building. Help Sheets with step by step configuration instructions are available for download at the bottom of this page and on the table outside of our office. To report any problems with the Wireless Network please stop by the IT Offices (Rm. 425) or send an e-mail to lawit@pitt.edu.
Laptop Support
The Information Technology Department provides limited support for student laptops. We are happy to provide technical assistance and advice to students concerning University Software and network configuration. Depending on the severity of the problem and whether the issue is hardware or software related, we may direct you to seek further assistance through your manufacturer or the University's Off-Campus Student Computer Assistance and Resources service. Please feel free to stop by the IT office (Rm. 425) with any questions and concerns you may have.
