Ronald Brand in the UAE to Assist Law Students With the International Arbitration Moot
From February 6 through February 14, Professor Ronald Brand was in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, where he assisted the Vis International Arbitration Moot teams of the UAE University, Sultan Qaboos University of Oman, and the University of Bahrain in their preparations for oral argument at the competition to be held in Vienna in late March and early April. The visit was part of a U.S. Department of Commerce Commercial Law Development Program contract to develop the international law and arbitration curricula of the three universities. Accompanying Professor Brand to work with the students were Marc Coda (J.D. ‘10), Richard Grubb (J.D. ‘10), and Kerry Ann Stare (J.D. ‘10). Following the week of work with the Vis teams, Professor Teresa Brostoff arrived to teach a week-long course in English for Lawyers to approximately 60 students and professors at the UAE University School of Law. She was assisted by Kerry Ann Stare.
