Grading Details

Your grade in this course will be based on:
25%: scores on five (5) short, unit-specific, in-class quizzes to be taken throughout the semester. Seven (7) quizzes will be given (approximately one every other week), but each student’s two lowest scores will be dropped for grading purposes. The two dropped scores will include any quizzes missed due to absence from class, and no make-up quizzes will be given.
75%: your score on a three-hour final examination covering material from the entire semester. The final will consist of multiple choice and short essay questions. You will have several opportunities during the semester to practice answering and receive feedback on your answers to sample multiple choice and short essay questions, on an ungraded, optional basis.
