Description

This course, which satisfies the upper level writing requirement, will focus on drafting various legal documents intended for various audiences. Documents assigned may include objective memoranda, motions and supporting briefs, bench memoranda, or judicial opinions. The course may also cover the writing of emails or letters to clients, supervising lawyers, or opposing counsel. Students will work closely with the professor to improve their writing and analytical skills, and will be expected to complete multiple drafts of some assignments. This is an advanced-level course; however, the professor welcomes students who believe they need additional assistance to improve their basic legal writing skills.
