Course Description

This seminar examines the law (common-law and constitutional case law, and statutes—living will, health care power of attorney, surrogate decisionmaking, DNR, POLST) governing decisions about withholding and withdrawing life-sustaining medical treatment, assisted suicide, and euthanasia. Students will write a research paper on a topic to be determined in consultation with the instructor.
