Course Description

Shifts on the market, such as rapid development of new technologies, and the growing calls for sustainable development goals within the trading practices, shape modern trade, impacting specifically contracts for the sale of goods in multifaceted ways. The course aims to place the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) in the context of changing practices in modern trade. Specifically, to those interested in embarking on a journey in the sphere of international sales contracts, the course will examine applicability and interpretation of the CISG, contract formation, obligations of quality, avoidance of contract, risk of loss, exemption for failure to perform, and remedies for breach.
