The Barco Law Library is open during regular library hours for Pitt Law faculty and students only.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are not open to Pitt users outside of Pitt Law; and we are not open to the public.

Master of Studies in Law Application

Ready to apply to Pitt Law's Master of Studies in Law program? Applicants to the MSL program can apply via the online application below. Please note, this is not an online degree program. Applicants should apply if they are ready to attend classes at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Questions about the MSL program and the application process can be directed to msl@pitt.edu.

  • Complete the online application below
  • Submit two letters of recommendation (not necessary if you are enrolled in or have completed a Pitt Law Online Certificate Program) 
  • Submit your academic transcripts (not necessary if you are enrolled in or have completed a Pitt Law Online Certificate Program) 

Letters of Recommendation

Provide two letters of recommendation, preferably from a professor, employer, or work colleague who knows you well.

Ask your recommender to complete the recommendation form and send the completed form with the letter.  If you are currently enrolled in or if you have completed one of Pitt Law's online graduate certificates, you do not need to submit letters of recommendation.

Letters and the recommendation form should be emailed by the person writing the letter to msl@pitt.edu.

The deadline for Fall 2022 application submission is August 15, 2022.
