Pitt Law Academy III -- Stress, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse in Law School and the Legal Profession: Good Advice and Cautionary Tales
Our third Pitt Law Academy session for the first-year class focuses on the critically important issue of mental wellness for law students and lawyers. The program will feature Iru Brodie-Mends, LCSW, Interim Clinical Director and Senior Staff Counselor at the University's Counseling Center, and Laurie Besden, Esq., Executive Director, Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers of Pennsylvania, Inc. The two organizations that your speakers represent are both invaluable resources in the part academic and part professional world of law school. Your speakers will share important information and data, challenge unfortunate stereotypes, and tell compelling and ultimately uplifting stories.
