The fourth Pitt Law Academy session for our 1L students brings in a panel of three very distinguished and accomplished members of the legal profession to discuss the critical and timely topic of civility. What exactly is civility, and why is it so important for lawyers to practice it and promote it? To address these and related questions, the law school will welcome Honorable Thomas M. Hardiman, Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit; Edwin L. Edwards, Of Counsel, Blank Rome LLP; and Colleen Ramage Johnston, Founding Member, Johnston Lykos, LLC.

These three panelists represent a wide range of professional experiences: Judge Hardiman practiced law for 13 years, became a federal district judge in 2003, and was elevated to the Third Circuit in 2007. Mr. Edwards is a corporate lawyer with extensive experience in a variety of industries, including sports and television. Ms. Ramage Johnston is an accomplished litigator who founded her own law firm where she represents plaintiffs in assorted employment discrimination matters.
