Lawrence Frolik Addresses the Psychology of Retirement Saving

Professor Lawrence Frolik presented a paper at the 5th Annual Labor and Employment Law Colloquium held in St. Louis on September 24/25 that was jointly sponsored by Washington University School of Law and St. Louis University School of Law.

Frolik’s paper was entitled, “When Your 401(k) Encounters Evolutionary Psychology, You Can Kiss a Secure Retirement Goodbye.” In the paper, Frolik maintained that because of their evolutionary heritage, culture and individual psychology, most Americans are unlikely to save enough to enjoy an economically secure retirement.
