University of Pittsburgh School of Law Dean Jerry Dickinson has announced that Professor Elena Baylis, Associate Dean for Experiential Learning, has been added to the Dean’s Leadership Team. She joins a group of administrative faculty and staff who serve as trusted advisors and strategic partners in advancing the Law School’s mission.
An expert in post-conflict and transitional justice, Baylis studies the relationships among communities and between domestic and international law, including cultural heritage protection, reconciliation mechanisms, hybrid courts and tribunals, and the prohibition on crimes against humanity. Her global research and fieldwork in post-conflict regions strengthen Pitt Law’s experiential learning programs and international engagement.
Baylis joins an experienced group of leaders whose combined expertise spans legal education, academic affairs, student success, and strategic initiatives. Collectively, the Dean’s Leadership Team brings deep institutional knowledge of Pitt Law along with broad experience in higher education nationally and globally.
