First Time Exam Takers: Exam Software Training Statement

If this is your first semester at Pitt Law and you plan on using your laptop for any in-class exam, you must watch the video tutorial and sign a statement affirming that you have watched the tutorial. The Registrar's Office must have your signed form on file before the exam period begins. You must watch the video, which can be found on the Exam Laptop Information page by clicking here.

After you’ve watched the video, you will need to print, sign, and return the Training Statement to the Registrar’s Office by noon on Friday, December 7th.  If the Registrar's Office does not have the signed form by the deadline (and they will verify receipt of all forms on Friday afternoon), you will not be able to use your laptop for your Monday exam.  Any forms received after Friday, December 7th at noon, will be verified for exams administered after the first day of the exam period.

The hard copy form must be returned to the Registrar’s Office by noon on Friday.  Do not email the form to anyone or to the Law Registrar email; they will not be accepted as receipt of the document either before the deadline or for those forms that are late.

Students who plan on taking their exams on a laptop should have already watched the video as part of the exam preparation process; so it’s simply a matter of printing, signing, and returning the attached form to the Registrar’s Office.

You can drop the form off during normal business hours in the Registrar’s Office, from 10 – 3 daily. For students who cannot make it to the office during normal business hours, we have a table set up outside the Registrar’s Office on the 2nd floor for students to drop off their signed forms, and will also have a supply of blank forms there.

Thank you for your attention to this matter!
