The Honorable Lisa Pupo Lenihan, '83, and Fredrick Egler, '78, to be Honored at Distinguished Alumni Dinner
The upcoming Distinguished Alumni Awards and Golden Gavel Society Induction Dinner (register to attend) will see two notable Pitt Law alumni honored. The Honorable Lisa Pupo Lenihan, '83, and Reed Smith counsel Fredrick Egler, '78, will be honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award, October 5 at the Omni William Penn Hotel.
Judge Lenihan graduated cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh in 1980 and magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1983, where she was a member of the Law Review. After many years as an attorney up to managing partner of Burns, White & Hickton, she was appointed to the bench as a United States Magistrate Judge for the Western District of Pennsylvania in April 2004. Judge Lenihan teaches Trial Advocacy as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Pitt Law.
Fred Egler is a member of Reed Smith's Insurance Recovery Group and has practiced in multiple settings, including working as managing partner of a trial practice where he tried dozens of cases to verdict. Egler is also a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a Past President of the Allegheny County Bar Association, and was the Editor-In-Chief of the Pittsburgh Legal Journal for 15 years.
