Pitt Law Grad Maryellen Noreika, ’93, Appointed U.S. District Judge
University of Pittsburgh School of Law graduate, Maryellen Noreika,’93, was appointed to United States District Judge for the District of Delaware on Aug. 1, 2018. Noreika is a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Group at Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP. Her practice focuses on litigating patent cases in a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices and consumer products.
She has been ranked in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. For more than seven years, Noreika has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America. She has been listed in Who’s Who Legal: Patents and has also been identified among the leading patent lawyers in Delaware by IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners and Managing Intellectual Property.
Noreika served as the Associate Editor and Editor of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review at Pitt Law, where she graduated magna cum laude. She holds a BS in biology from Lehigh University and a MA in biology from Columbia University.
