Two Pitt Law Alumnae Nominated to District Court Judgeships

Two Pitt Law alumnae have been nominated for judgeships. Maryilyn Jean Horan, '79 has been re-nominated for a seat on the District court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Maryellen Noreika, '93, has been nominated to a seat on the District Court for the District of Delaware.

Judge Horan was the first female judge in Butler County history and has been a Butler County Common Pleas Court judge since 1996 in the court's civil division. From 1979 to 1996, Judge Horan worked at the law firm of Murrin, Taylor, Flach and Horan, where she rose to partner in 1982.

Noreika received her J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. She joined the firm Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP in 1993 and later became partner.
