Professor Ronald A. Brand Receives Sheth Distinguished Faculty Award for International Achievement

University of Pittsburgh School of Law Chancellor Mark A. Nordenberg Professor, John E. Murray Faculty Scholar, and Academic Director of the Center of International Education, Ronald A. Brand has been named the 2019-2020 recipient of the Sheth Distinguished Faculty Award for International Achievement.
Created by Dr. and Mrs. Jagdish N. Sheth through the Sheth Family Foundation, the Sheth Distinguished Faculty Award for International Achievement recognizes a University of Pittsburgh faculty member for their international activities, teaching, research, and public engagement. Pitt’s Vice Provost for Global Affairs and Director of the University Center for International Studies, Ariel C. Armony, said Brand, “truly embodies our vision for internationalization of the University.”
Professor Brand was the driving force behind the creation of the University of Pittsburgh's Center for International Legal Education (CILE) and its Master of Laws Program for Foreign Law Graduates. His reputation as a scholar on international and comparative law has helped the University of Pittsburgh School of Law attract prominent visiting scholars and lecturers from around the world and enhance opportunities for students to study and work abroad.
The Sheth Distinguished Faculty Award for International Achievement will be presented to Brand at a ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 14, 2019 at the William Pitt Union.
