Biography

Frederick Frank is a founding partner of the Pittsburgh law firm of Frank, Gale, Bails, Murcko & Pocrass, P.C., where he has been the President and Chief Executive Officer since 1990.  He has extensive experience in the field of media law. His work in media law includes multiple Right to Know Law cases before the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court; and First Amendment cases involving access to judicial proceedings.  He has litigated precedent setting cases in the field of media law and has published on media law and public access to judicial proceedings in the Widener Commonwealth Law Review and The Pennsylvania Lawyer.

Frank has served (by appointment of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court) as Vice Chair of the Appellate Procedural Rules Committee. He currently is Chair (by appointment of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court) of the Committee of Rules of Evidence.

Frank is the recipient of numerous professional honors. He was honored by Best Lawyers in America in 2015 for being listed in its publication for twenty consecutive years. He has been listed as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer every year since the publication commenced and has been named one of the top 50 Lawyers in Pittsburgh by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers. Mr. Frank is a frequent lecturer for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He received both his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Pittsburgh.
