David J. Rosenberg

Adjunct Professor of Law

David Rosenberg is a seasoned litigator who concentrates his practice in the fields of insurance and commercial litigation. Among his clients are some of the nation’s largest property and casualty insurers and their insureds.  He has successfully tried cases in areas including premises liability, products liability, coverage, bad faith, toxic torts, subrogation and construction litigation.  Mr. Rosenberg has successfully represented clients in a wide variety of professions and businesses including insurance carriers, manufacturers, distributors, professional corporations, agricultural concerns, contractors, retail establishments and property owners.  His approach to litigation involves developing a creative litigation analysis with a focus on cost-effective strategies including, where appropriate, the use of alternate dispute resolution, mediation and arbitration.

In recognition of his skills, Mr. Rosenberg was named to the faculty of the 33rd Annual (2005) International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy at Stanford Law School. In 2010, Mr. Rosenberg was elected to the Board of Directors of the Foundation for the International Association of Defense Counsel.

Mr. Rosenberg also is a certified mediator in Pennsylvania concentrating in subrogation, property insurance and first-party insurance dispute resolution matters.

In 2010 and 2011, Mr. Rosenberg was recognized by the publisher of the Pennsylvania edition of Super Lawyers magazine as being among the top 5 percent of practitioners in his practice specialty within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Western and Middle District of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the  Southern District of West Virginia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Member of the International Association of Defense Counsel (Vice Chair, Insurance Committee; Chair, Property Insurance Committee (2002-2004); Chair, Membership for Western Pennsylvania and the Atlantic Region), Defense Research Institute, the Allegheny County Bar Association, and the National Association of Subrogation Professionals; Fellow in the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County.
