Ira Karoll focuses his practice on general civil litigation matters involving product liability, commercial disputes, energy, and insurance coverage. He has substantial appellate and trial court experience, including disputes regarding oil and gas rights, post-merger earnouts, and contracts between hospitals and insurers.

Ira has counseled and represented clients in the transportation industry, including during NTSB investigations. He is part of teams currently representing an automotive supplier in a contract dispute and counseling a foreign entity regarding an airplane accident. He also focuses on unmanned and autonomous vehicles. For example, he recently counseled a company on its Unmanned Aircraft System insurance policy for commercial drone (UAS) operations.

Ira is an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh Law School, teaching a class on the First Amendment. He is active in pro bono causes, including the Allegheny County Bar Foundation Veterans Legal Clinic. Ira also serves on the boards of Congregation Poale Zedeck and Hillel Academy of Pittsburgh.
