As Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Inclusion, Pam has University-wide responsibility for coordinating and expanding Pitt’s commitment to, and emphasis on, diversity and inclusion. Her efforts are focused on creating and sustaining a culture that appreciates that diversity, equity and inclusion are essential to the University’s mission and its continued excellence. In her role, Pam is responsible for strategic initiatives and partnerships, policy development and stewardship, education, and complaint response and resolution. Responsibilities include the development, oversight and coordination of university-wide efforts relating to Institutional Equity, Title IX (sexual misconduct), Affirmative Action, Digital Accessibility and Cultural Awareness. The office manages the University’s related regulatory requirements, and works closely with senior leadership in developing and implementing programs that create a stronger culture of diversity and inclusion.
For over a decade, Pam represented the University in all phases of litigation in state and federal court, including employment, discrimination, and commercial disputes, and tort cases. She also provided advice and counsel to the University on a wide range of legal issues including academic and conduct issues, discrimination, constitutional issues, and privacy. Pam provided legal support for the University of Pittsburgh's Division of Student Affairs. She was also responsible for International agreements and contracts, including inter-institutional agreements and study abroad contracts and provided legal advice to the Office of Research. Other areas of her responsibility and expertise included Title IX, the ADA/Rehabilitation Act, First Amendment law and Minors on Campus.
Before practicing in Higher Education, Pam was a litigator at the Babst Calland and LeBoeuf Lamb law firms.
