Biography
Sara Burhan Abdullah is an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law teaching Arabic for Lawyers. She was born and grew up in the Kurdish Region of Iraq. She graduated from the University of Sulaymaniya College of Law in 2003. She worked as a research assistant at the University of Sulaymaniya College of Law before moving to the United States in 2005.
Professor Abdullah attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and received her LL.M in 2008 and her JD in 2011. Professor Abdullah has worked with the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq, advising on revisions to the Iraqi Criminal Procedure Code and has attended numerous meetings of Iraq’s special Constitutional Review Committee. She has also worked with US law firms on Iraq-related issues in the past and has served as a judge for the Iraq national rounds of the Jessup International Moot Court Competition. From 2011-2015, Professor Abdullah worked as an associate with JBM Legal, LLC focusing on immigration law. Professor Abdullah currently is the owner and founder of S.B. Abdullah Law Firm, LLC and practices primarily in the area of immigration law among other areas.
