Bar Application Resources

Notary

Portions of most bar applications have to be notarized.  Once you have determined all the parts that need to be notarized, choose a notary from the list below.  Bring a photo i.d. with you, and do not sign until you are in the presence of the notary.

  • Rob Wible, Director of Academic Success and Bar Exam Services (Bar applications and related documentation only)
  • The S.O.R.C. office, 833 Pitt Union, 11:00-1:00 M-F, call in advance (412-624-7116) $5 per seal, cash only

Money Orders/Certified Checks

Most state bars and most state criminal information offices require payment by money order or certified check. If your bank charges more than $1 for either, consider these options:

  • US Post Office, Bouquet Street ($1.20 per m.o. up to $500) (cash or debit card only)
  • Rite Aid , 209 Atwood Street (79 cents per m.o.; $500 maximum)
