Ronald Brand and Kevin Ashley as Expert Observers at the U.N. for UNCITRAL

On May 21-15, 2012, Professors Kevin Ashley and Ronald A. Brand, along with Matthias Grabmair and Cristina Mariottini, represented the Center for International Legal Education (CILE) of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law as Expert Observers at the United Nations in New York, at the Twenty-fifth Session of Working Group III of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).  The Working Group considered a draft set of procedural rules for global online dispute resolution (ODR).  CILE has been invited by the UNCITRAL Secretariat to provide an expert delegation to assist the UNCITRAL Member States in determining how best to deal with the need for online dispute resolution in high volume, low value cross border transactions.  One of the five working documents considered at the Session (Working Paper 115) was prepared by CILE for the UNCITRAL Secretariat.
