University of Pittsburgh School of Law Tax Clinic

The University of Pittsburgh School of Law Tax Clinic gives free legal help to persons, based upon their level of income, who have income tax problems or need income tax advice.  The Tax Clinic is operated by School of Law students supervised by three law professors who are experienced tax lawyers.  The Clinic is not connected with, and is completely independent of, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Clinic members give advice and assistance for:

  • Income tax returns being examined by the IRS
  • IRS tax collection problems
  • Tax cases pending before the United States Tax Court

the Clinic does NOT prepare tax returns

If the Clinic decides to represent you, we do so free of charge

If you qualify, a Law student will return your telephone call and arrange to meet with you to talk about your problem.  All conversations with you are confidential.
