Before you request an ILL: try E-ZBorrow
If you need a book that is not available in Pittcat, start with E-ZBorrow. E-ZBorrow lets you request books directly from partner libraries and is generally much faster than a standard interlibrary loan — often a few business days rather than two weeks. Search, place your request, and pick the item up when it arrives. Use interlibrary loan below if E-ZBorrow does not have the title, or if you need an article, book chapter, or other material E-ZBorrow does not supply. E-ZBorrow can be picked up at the Hillman Library.
Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary loan can be used for materials not available at Pitt. We are able to access the holdings of hundreds of libraries across the United States and can borrow books or have articles photocopied and delivered to you.
Interlibrary loans are free for Pitt Law Faculty. Others must inquire as to price. Email an ILL Request or complete the ILL Request Form below. Note that an ILL request takes about two weeks to arrive unless a local library can supply the material. If you wish to locate materials in other libraries, the WorldCat database has the catalog records of library holdings for most libraries in the US and many throughout the world.
