Magistrate Judge Lisa Pupo Lenihan (JD ’83) Receives FMJA Founders Award

The Honorable Lisa Pupo Lenihan (JD ’83) was awarded the Federal Magistrate Judges Association’s (FMJA) 2022 FMJA Founders Award on July 26, 2022 in Salt Law City, Utah.

The FMJA Founders Award is the most prestigious honor the FMJA bestows and is presented to a person who has made valuable and lasting contributions to the Magistrate Judges system of the United States courts.

Judge Lenihan has served as a United States Magistrate Judge for the USDC for the Western District of Pennsylvania since April 2004. In her role as a federal Magistrate Judge, she handles various criminal and civil cases. Judge Lenihan has also mediated hundreds of cases for her colleagues on the bench. She graduated magna cum laude from Pitt Law, where she was a member of the Law Review. Judge Lenihan is a member of the University of Pittsburgh Law Alumni Association Board and a past member of the ACBA Judiciary Committee and various other ACBA sections.

Past recipients of the FMJA Founders Award include Judge Ila Sensenich, Justice Rehnquist, and Justice Roberts.
