Pitt Law #1 in Overall Bar Passage Rate in Pennsylvania

The University of Pittsburgh School of Law announced today that its graduates have achieved the highest overall bar passage rate in Pennsylvania for the July 2025 bar exam. This top ranking is a testament to the dedication of the graduates and the strength of the law school's comprehensive and community-focused approach to student success.

“We are incredibly proud of our graduates, whose hard work and perseverance have placed them at the very top of the legal profession in Pennsylvania,” said Jerry Dickinson, Dean and Professor of Law. “This number one ranking is a reflection of our entire community's collective effort. From the moment students arrive, they are supported by a network of dedicated faculty, committed staff, and loyal alumni who are all invested in their success. This is a win for our entire community.”

“We at Pitt Law embrace the education of the next generation of outstanding lawyers with great enthusiasm,” said John Linarelli, Vice Dean and Professor of Law. “Our aim is to develop the potential of each and every one of our students to be the best they can be on their journey into the legal profession. It is an absolute joy for us to see them succeed at the bar and beyond."

“I couldn’t be happier for or prouder of our graduates. I know their hard work and sacrifices that go into this process. The profession will be lucky to have them,” said Rob Wible, Director of Bar and Academic Success.

This community-led effort is a hallmark of the Pitt Law experience, where expert faculty provide a rigorous legal education, dedicated staff offer personalized academic and wellness support, and a network of engaged alumni serves as mentors and provides invaluable professional guidance.

“This result is a clear indicator that Pitt Law is on the rise,” Dickinson added. “Our goal is to ensure every student crosses the finish line, and this achievement shows what is possible when an entire institution comes together to support its students. We congratulate the Class of 2025 on this outstanding accomplishment.”
